2022 Wrapped Up!

On June 10th 2022, Social Socks opened its virtual doors with bold goals and an aspiration to help support different charities whilst at the same time providing others with an opportunity to give back and understand further the Climate and Social issues we face today.

Social Socks ~ Classic Range

 

The Classic range launched with eight colours, ranging from Midnight Black, Forest Green, Poppy Red and Ocean Blue, to name a few. They add instant colour to your sock drawer with bold, striking colours. But what was also important was how they felt. So with every pair, we included cushioned soles, arch support and seamless toes to provide you with the best socks for your feet and the planet. Each pair of Classic socks was finished with an embroidered logo to give that touch of luxury.

The Classic socks were a great success on launch weekend, raising an incredible £32.29 for WWF-UK and planting 16 trees. Then fast forward to September 3rd, and four new colours were added to the Classic range. Autumnal-inspired colours, Sunset Orange, Racing Green, Autumnal Gold and Mulberry Wine. These colours were taken from the colours of the leaves as Autumn began, with the name Mulberry Wine being named by a follower on Instagram, where a competition was run to name the upcoming burgundy Classic sock.

A month on, October 1st saw the release of the Rainbow socks, the first into the collaboration range and a new charity to raise funds for, Tommy's. The rainbow band was inspired by 'Rainbow Babies'. The term rainbow baby is used when a child is born after one previously lost due to miscarriage, stillborn or death from natural causes. Marc, the founder of Social Socks, went through two miscarriages with his wife, so raising awareness and donating money to Tommy's is particularly important to him and his family.

Just four months after launch, the Classic range now had twelve bold and striking colours to choose from and two rainbow designs from the collaboration range, taking the total to fourteen pairs. Up next was Black Friday, a huge success, followed by five weeks of Christmas markets across the North East of England. Month on month, the volume of trees planted increased, and so did the donations to charity. On October 3rd, Social Socks made their first donation to WWF-UK, raising over £250!

Then as 2022 comes to an end, one final colour is added to the Classic range, Sapphire Blue! Now taking the Classic range to thirteen colours. And as of today, January 1st 2023, Social Socks have made their final donation of 2022, an impressive £445.72! To which £117.85 was raised to Tommy's and £327.87 to WWF-UK. Bringing the combined year end total to £698.58. Not forgetting the final tally of trees planted in 2022, which was 1009! None of this would have been possible without your help and support, so from me, Marc the founder of Social Socks, a huge thank you for making the first year so successful.

Before we look ahead at 2023 and the plans in place, Thank you to all the individuals and businesses for their help, support and guidance. Social Socks wouldn't have been nearly as successful without them. So here's to continued success and relationships, new socks, charities and many more trees planted in 2023!
